The
goal of the meeting is to read some texts which have been key sources
of ideas in Real Algebraic Geometry in the same spirit as in
Belle-Ile meeting. Texts by Descartes, Bezout, Budan, Fourier,
Laplace,
Gauss, Klein, Commessatti, Lojasiewicz, Brakhage, Seidenberg, Stengle
will be studied. You can access here to the list of
papers (on the Thamous database) with links to digitalized versions
for some of them.
The number of participants, real algebraic geometers or specialists in
the history of mathematics, is not yet definitive (The ones which
confirmed their participation are in the list below). Each text will be
studied and presented by one or more participants, some of whom will be
mathematical historians while others are real algebraic geometers.
Each participant is expected to play an active role and will receive a
text to study and present.
You can click here to access the Thamous
bibliographical database on real algebraic geometry.
